How do you judge yourself as a leader? By your results? By how much your employees love you?
I see far too many really talented leaders fail to recognize that if they don’t fail to score highly on both engagement of employees and results, they aren’t doing the full job.
The full job is to develop and utilize the finesse necessary to lead, not to just demand work of others, to make them feel engaged and empowered, AND to deliver results.
If you gave yourself a 1 to 5 rating on both indices, what would you score? If your scores are lopsided, rethink you approach, get an executive coach, something.
You will be glad you did – and so will your employees and other stakeholders.
